Excellent application. We are converting the MathML to SVG, for display in eBooks, print and other deprived environments.
The Feature Request
Would love to see the ability to re-edit an equation? Is there any plan for this?
If it could be pasted into the equation area that would be enough. The main reason for this is probably fine-tuning thin spaces and make equations look great after review, but also for the inevitable correction, especially on more complex constructions.

Re: Re-edit an equation
In fact, you are not the first who requests this feature. I would love to add it. Nevertheless, this is challenging. Therefore, I cannot give any estimate on when it will be available. You will definitely not see it in the next release of Firemath, which should appear when RC1 of FF 3.1 gets published.

Re: Re-edit an equation
Unfortunately, things are not that easy. The equation has to be mapped onto the Firemath internal structure. Nevertheless, a solution will certainly head into the direction you suggest. I hope to find some time an do some experiments soon.

Re: Re-edit an equation
You will need to build up a tree of the MathML statements prior to mapping it to your own internal data structure. Not sure how easy XUL makes that sort of thing.
